Shetland Calendar 2003

We publish calendars annually of the following areas: Orkney, Shetland, Western Isles and Caithness. The calendars are 21x21cm with 12 pictures plus cover. The pictures are all new.  As usual the calendars are widely available in each area, but may be ordered direct, either via e-mail charles.tait@zetnet.co.uk, telephone or fax. Retail price is £4.50 per calendar plus UK postage and packing of £1. Overseas post and packaging is extra at cost (US, Canada and Australia $10US including airmail). Payment by Visa, Mastercard or American Express is preferred.  2003 calendars were published in July 2002 and are available for immediate delivery. We can also send calendars directly to friends or relatives if you wish.

Up Helly Aa takes place in Lerwick on the last Tuesday of January.

Fair Isle south lighthouse from the east. Established in 1892, the light was one of the last to be made automatic.

Fethaland, North Roe, was a fishing station in the 19th century. The walk out to this headland is especially attractive on a nice day.

Muckle Flugga from hermaness, Unst with Puffins. The most northerly lighthouse in Britain was first lit in 1854 and was made automatic in 1995.

Reawick is so-named due to its red sandy beach.

Jarlshof at Sumburgh has settlement remains from the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Pictish and Viking eras right through to Medieval times.

Westerwick, West Mainland is one of many attractive small coves in Walls - peaceful on a Summer's day and wild during a Winter storm.

The lighthouse on Bound Skerry, Out Skerries is the most easterly in Shetland and was first lit in 1854. It was made automatic in 1972. One of the Whalsay purse-seiners is seen passing to the east
