Skara
Brae
The
famous Neolithic village of Skara Brae was occupied from about 3100
to 2600BC. Its well-preserved houses and "street" give an
dramatic feeling for life 5,000 years ago.. It was exposed from sand
dunes after a big gale in 1850. The Visitor Centre nearby offers interpretation,
a cafe and shop.
