Oil Flotta Oil Terminal was constructed to deal with North Sea Oil in the 1970's. Scapa Flow provides an ideal anchorage for tankers which continue to be a familiar daily sight. Orcadians do rather resent seeing so much oil heading for USA to be sold at low prices while they have to pay some of the highest prices in the world for their fuel.
