Orkney - Scapa Flow

Scapa Flow was used extensively by the British Navy in both World Wars. At the end of WW1 the Imperial German Fleet was interned here, and was scuttled in 1919. Divers now come especially to visit the remaining wrecks. During WW2, after the sinking of HMS Royal Oak, the Churchill Barriers were built. Today North Sea Oil comes ashore on Flotta. Scapa Flow is fully land-locked and forms a perfect natural harbour.
