Aurora Borealis 2
The Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights are often a feature of the night sky in Orkney. The Aurora is the result of interactions between the Earth's magnetic field and charged particles from the Sun, and are usually seen in autumn and winter when the sky is dark. The phemenon is best seen on clear nights when there is no Moon.
