Hoy
The largest
of the South Ilses, Hoy is also the only really hilly island in Orkney,
with dramatic 1,000-feet high red sandstone cliffs, and imposing 450-feet
high Old Man of Hoy. The Dwarfie Stone is a hand-carved tomb, Rackwick
is an attractive valley with a large sandy beach nearby. The whole of
the north of Hoy is an RSPB Reserve.
