Orkney - South Isles

The South Isles surround Scapa Flow. The easterly string of islands are connected to the Mainland by the Churchill Barriers and comprise Lamb Holm, Glimps Holm, Burray and South Ronaldsay. To the west is the large island of Hoy, while several smaller islands including Flotta complete the southerly side of Scapa Flow. Swona lies on the edge of the Pentland Firth, while also included here are the outliers of Sule Skerry and Sule Stack - 40 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean.
