Fetlar

The little island of Feltar has often been described as the "Garden of Shetland" on account of its fertility, but it was depopulated in the 18th and 19th centuries. It lies to the east of Yell and is reached from the Gutcher or Belmont ferry terminals. An old "flit boat" lies on the shore near the harbour. It is the best place in Shetland to see Red-necked Phalarope.
