Scalloway

Scalloway was the ancient capital of Shetland, and evidence of settlement here goes back for thousands of years. The imposing ruin of Scalloway Castle was built for earl Partick Stewart using forced labour in the eayl 1600's. The excellent harbour is home to many small boats and many fishing and cargo boats use it regularly.
