The
Mainland south of Lerwick is composed of a hilly central spine with
fertile coastal areas and sheltered bays, interspersed with more rugged
areas and cliffy cloasts. There are many attractive sandy beaches.
The small islands of Mousa with its broch, and St Ninian's Isle, joined
to the Mainland by its famous tombolo are well worth a visit.
