Sumburgh
Sumburgh
Head is the southernmost point of the Shetland Mainland, and is topped
by a lighthouse. The deep tidal waters in this area provide good feeding
for fish and make it a good place to see seabirds, especially Puffins
and Gannets. Whales including Orcas and Humpbacks are regularly seen
here. Shetland's main airfield is nearby, as are the settlements of
Jarlshof and Old Scatness.
