The
area of the West Mainland west of Bixter comprises Skeld, Walls and
Sandness. The ground is mostly quite low-lying and there are inumerable
small lochs. The south coast is rgged with several very nice small
bays, as at Reawick, Silwick and Westerwick. Walls is less rugged
and has a sheltered harbour, while remote Sandness has views over
to Papa Stour.
