Castlebay
Castlebay
is one of the finset natural harbours on the west coast of Scotland.
Guarded by its little castle, which may have originated in the Iron
Age, it was an important port during the Herring Boom. Today it is the
main settlement on Barra. The scene is always interesting, with ferries,
fishing boats and yachts coming and going. The Castle is open to visitors.
