The Western Isles are very well served by transport, both by sea and air. British Airways, Loganair and Highland Airways operate regular flights to Stornoway, Benebecula and Barra, while Calmac operate ferries to Stornoway, Tarbert, Lochmaddy, Lochboisdale and Castlebay. There are also inter-island ferry links.
