Stornoway
Stornoway
is the main town and port for Lewis. It is also base for many fishing
boats which crowd the harbour every weekend. There has been settlement
here since Neolithic times, but it was only in the 18th century that the
town reached any size, due to its excellent harbour and the start of the
Herring fishing.
