Flannan Islands The Flannan Islands are situated about 33km WNW of Gallan Head in Lewis. In 1900 the three lighthouse keepers went missing in a mysterious episode and were never found. The islands are home to many breeding seabirds in summer, and are also known as the "Seven Hunters". There is a small chapel dedicated to St Flann below the lighthouse on Eilean Mhor.
